Business Description

Innerstill is a NJ-based neurotechnology company developing evidence-based, gentle, wearable bioelectric devices that help the human nervous system and brain regain balance. Our first product, mindvybe®, supports nervous-system regulation using multi-modal, ultra-low electrical currents, that auto-regulates to the user, with no sensation and no tolerance build-up. Our second platform, a non-invasive deep brain modulator, (a 2026 Edison Patent Award winner) is designed to improve the waste clearance systems of the brain and improve neuronal communication.

Company History

Innerstill was founded in 2021 to bring 40 years of Dr. Yakov Katsnelson's pioneering science in bioelectric neuromodulation to everyday life through integrative therapies designed by Hank Beckhoff. His research, which includes technologies that earned FDA clearances in the early 2000’s, provides the foundational learnings for our four patents, four clinical studies, and real-world evidence across more than 5,200 people. Innerstill has benefitted from the innovative NJ ecosystem, receiving two competitive CSIT Maternal and Infant Health grants and a CSIT R&D Voucher.

Problem

Modern life has outpaced human biology. Mental and physical stressors lead to neural-hormonal imbalances that cause symptoms that have now been normalized. Stress, sleep loss, mood, focus, and cognitive decline are treated as separate problems and often lead to chronic health complications. The brain and nervous system are fundamental to managing health, wellness and mental acuity in our integrated human biology. The most common interventions rely on medication or invasive procedures with unwanted or unexpected side-effects with difficult ‘off-ramps’. Behavior modification strategies with tools that track symptoms or biometrics often leave the heavy lift to the individual to implement.

Innerstill Solutions:

  • mindvybe®: A patented, wearable vagus nerve and acupressure device that helps shift the nervous system out of overload, supporting calm, sleep, focus, and resilience. mindvybe works passively on the user, with no cortisol rising sensation, making it easy to use, no ‘push’, proper-mindset, or will-power required. Zero device-related adverse events and 90% sustained improvements across our studies.

  • Non-invasive deep brain modulation: Non-surgically re-energizes deep brain regions to help brain cells clear waste and communicate. While clinical studies are needed, translational research and prototype outcomes are promising for symptoms related to stroke, concussion, and neurodegenerative disease.

Markets

Consumer wellness, high-end fitness and longevity centers, women/maternal health (CSIT-funded R&D grant for the baby blues), integrative and oncology after-care, and education markets (international distribution through Ayamedica in the Middle East). Eventual 510(k) FDA clearance expands access. Our non-invasive deep brain platform opens a path into brain injury, cognitive health and neurodegeneration. The SaaS platform for mindvybe provides recurring revenue, wrap-around apps and services, user-controlled data analysis, and partner revenue share opportunities.

The intended SAMD (Software as a Medical Device) platform for the non-invasive deep brain stimulator will allow compliance, patient/doctor monitoring, and provider billing.
